Chambers were honoured to welcome the Romanian Ambassador, His Excellency, Dr Ion Jinga, to 3 Temple Gardens on 13 October.
The visit was organised by Flavia Kenyon, a tenant at 3 Temple Gardens and the only Romanian- speaking barrister practising in England and Wales. Flavia has developed close links with the Embassy through her extensive work for the Romanian community.
Dr Jinga is thought to be the first Romanian Ambassador to visit Middle Temple and was keen to take up the invitation from 3 Temple Gardens because he himself studied law.
The Ambassador attended Chambers with the Embassy’s First Secretary and Press Secretary, and during the tour of Middle Temple they met the Master Treasurer, The Rt Hon Sir Stanley Burnton.
Flavia also recently lectured at the Romanian Embassy on the subject of the British Bar and the criminal justice system, and Chambers looks forward to strengthening and developing our links with the Romanian community.
John Coffey QC, Flavia Kenyon and Kevin Aldrige (Senior Clerk), will be attending the Romanian National Day celebrations, and Chambers will be making a charitable donation towards a giant Christmas tree and children’s decorations at the Embassy.
