The trial of 7 defendants accused of defrauding the London Borough of Newham has commenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court this week.
The trial is anticipated to occupy the court for 8 weeks. Simon Connolly represents a husband and wife accused of conspiracy to defraud after they participated in a skiing holiday to Canada that was partially funded by the Borough. Following a successful application to dismiss at a pre-trial hearing the case against the wife was dismissed for lack of evidence.
