Gordon Ross appears in the first ever prosecution for film tax relief fraud

Gordon Ross has appeared as Leading Junior Counsel for a University Lecturer in financial management who was accused, along with others, of defrauding the Government's multimillion-pound support scheme for film-makers.

The defendant's were part of a sophisticated plan to claim £2.8 million in tax credits and VAT repayments to produce a £20 million film called 'Landscape of Lies'. The film went on to win an award in 2012 at the Las Vegas Film Festival.

The trial occupied the court at Southwark Crown Court for six weeks.
