Shona Grundy secures acquittal in £69,000 benefit fraud

Following detailed legal arguments, the prosecution concede that they had no case on all four counts

Shona Grundy has secured the acquittal of a defendant charged with a £69,000 benefit fraud. The prosecution's case required Shona to extensively cross-examine the Department of Works and Pension's fraud investigator in respect of some eighteen different bank accounts. At the close of the prosecution case, Shona made detailed legal arguments which, after being successful, forced the prosecution to concede that they had no case to answer on all four counts.
