Court agrees with Steven Perian QC that it is an abuse of process to continue with the prosecution of a woman charged with trafficking a child for sexual exploitation and arranging or facilitating child prostitution of two children

Steven Perian QC at the start of the trial gets the case against a woman charged with trafficking a 14 year old female child for sexual exploitation and arranging or facilitating child prostitution of two 14 year old children stayed on the grounds of abuse of process at Cambridge Crown Court.

TW an 18 year old female who was herself a victim of sexual exploitation was charged with trafficking within the United Kingdom for sexual exploitation a 14 year old child. She was also charged with arranging or facilitating child prostitution of two 14 year old children.

The legal arguments concentrated on the Crown Prosecution Service decision to prosecute TW being in breach of Art 26 and Art 10 of the Council of Europe Convention on Action Against Trafficking in Human Beings 2005.
