After a trial at Croydon Crown Court, originally due to last five days but ultimately spanning nearly five weeks, Shanice Mahmud’s client (ZW) was unanimously acquitted of all four counts of rape, on the indictment against him. Despite extensive audio and video evidence adduced by the Crown, along with the admission of ZW’s entire antecedent history, the jury took just under three hours to acquit.
