Prior to pupillage, Jessica was a Prison Lawyer and represented Category A, IPP, Life Sentence and Extended Sentence prisoners subject to Parole Board Hearings and Pre Tariff reviews. She also routinely represented clients subject to licence recall, completing all litigation and oral representation, beginning through to end.
Her case load consisted of predominantly high-profile, high-risk of serious harm, murder, terrorism, and clients convicted of RASSO offences. She secured many release directions before the Judicially Chaired Parole Board, in particular, for clients reported as ‘extremists’.
She also represented clients at Independent Adjudications and acted for private matters including transfer applications, home detention curfew and recategorisations.
Jessica has also represented clients and has been successful before the Social Security Tribunal.
