Richard Reynolds

Call 2014

Richard has argued cases before all levels of the courts of England and Wales; from niche matters before the Magistrates’ courts to the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom;. He is a joint specialist in grave and financial crime. His practice is chiefly in the Crown Court, but he has also appeared at first instance in the County Court, High Court (both QB and Chancery divisions) and in various tribunals. He has appeared at all levels of the appellate courts.

His practice covers all matters from allegations involving murder, guns, gangs and drugs; to the nuances of obligations under FSMA 2000 and other regulatory & business crime matters (including director’s disqualification and financial forfeiture).

He maintains an advisory practice touching on matters from FCA financial regulation, IP, chancery, and employment law to matters of Criminal Appeal, and as a particular specialty, POCA 2002 confiscation and forfeiture.

Before coming to the Bar, he was General Counsel for a multinational digital technology and publishing business; and worked in various roles on the Baha Mousa and Al Sweady Public Inquiries into alleged (and proven) war crimes in Iraq and the Inquest touching upon the death of Alexander Litvinenko.

Richard is Public Access qualified.

For reasons of confidentiality Richard only highlights criminal cases ending in an acquittal nor does he highlight civil or advisory work; this rule does not apply to reported appellate cases as they are publicly available by internet search.
