Charles Durrant secures acquittal in drugs case following successful submission

Charles Durrant

Charles Durrant secures acquittal in drugs supply charge on day three of the trial after an application was successfully made to exclude both the Defendant's confession at the scene and the evidence of his DNA on the drug's wrapping.

An interesting technical point was raised in relation to the transition arrangements under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 for the retention of DNA samples taken before 31st October 2013.

Instructed by Leah Osei and Sasha Sidhu of SVS Solicitors.
