Francesca Hallett represented a 15 year old defendant facing a two-day trial in the Youth Court for S.18 Wounding, Affray and Possession of a Bladed Article. The case against the defendant was dropped by the prosecution on the day of trial after numerous legal arguments by the Crown were successfully opposed by Francesca, whilst highlighting the inherent weaknesses in the Crown’s case and significant disparities in the evidence.
As a result, the young defendant has retained his Good Character.
