Operation Reconcile. Jeremy Wainwright has made a successful submission that the case against his client should not proceed as the Prosecution was too weak to go before the jury. The case concerned a gang in an alleged Conspiracy to Blackmail, by acting as unlawful debt collectors making threats. The Trial Judge agreed with the submission made and directed a Not Guilty verdict. The submission was very unusual as it was made during the defence case, rather than at the end of the Prosecution case. The case continues against the remaining defendants.
