The jury convicted on 18 counts of multi-incident Rape, Sexual Assault, Causing or Inciting Sexual Activity of a Child and Possession of Indecent Images. The Defendant sexually abused his niece over the course of 3 years when she was between the ages of 6-9 years old. He was found to have accessed multiple child pornography websites and extreme pornographic images. He was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment and made subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and Restraining Order.

Stephen Garbett persuades the Court of Appeal to reduce his client's sentence from 30 months detention to 24 months, after successfully arguing that the original sentence was manifestly excessive.
