Jonathan Rosen secures acquittal in Old Bailey drugs trial

Jonathan Rosen

Jonathan Rosen has secured the acquittal of a man charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine following a trial at the Central Criminal Court.

The case turned extensively on mobile telephone evidence and involved an analysis of the content of two phones he was found in possession of on arrest after he had purportedly sped off to evade police. The so called "dirty" phone, which the defendant denied attribution of, contained messages said to be indicative of drug dealing whilst a "clean" phone which he accepted was his contained messages which, the prosecution contended, showed a connection with the dirty phone and evidence of class A drug dealing itself. Various items said to be drug dealing paraphernalia were also found at his home address. The jury took just one and a half hours to reach unanimous not guilty verdicts.
