Katie Porter-Windley successful in the Court of Appeal, representing the appellant in an appeal against his sentence.

Katie Porter-Windley

The Court of Appeal quashed the original sentence of 9 years 6 months imprisonment, and imposed a sentence of 7 years 7 months imprisonment.

Leave to appeal was granted on the basis that the original sentence imposed on the defendant in respect of four offences comprising of s.20 GBH, two ABH’s and intentional suffocation in a domestic context, and activation of a 2 year suspended sentence order, was manifestly excessive.
