Andrew Horsell

Samantha Ball

In a trial at Manchester Crown Court lasting eight weeks, Andrew Horsell and Samantha Ball, instructed by Ben Kaufman at Abbey Solicitors, represented a Manchester rap artist who was acquitted of a conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of ammunition.

Several shots were fired at a house in South Manchester in September 2020.  DNA from the defendant was found on a bullet casing and a live bullet found at the scene of a shooting and the Crown’s case was that rap lyrics allegedly relating to the incident were found on the defendant’s phone. Prosecution cell-site, DNA and firearms experts were cross-examined during the trial.

The Defendant was acquitted unanimously of all counts.
