Michael Stradling defends in trial where jury return verdicts of not guilty by reason of insanity

Michael Stradling

Michael Stradling represented a defendant who successfully ran the defence of insanity in the Wood Green Crown Court. The rare defence involved detailed expert evidence from eminent psychiatrists and the resolution of disagreement between them. It is estimated that the defence is only ever put before a jury in around 7 cases per year, and not all of those cases result in the special verdict being delivered.

Michael has considerable experience of mental health issues as they relate to criminal law. This success is an addition to an impressive range of experience in his career.

Michael was instructed by EBR Attridge LLP
