Michael Stradling successfully defends another defendant accused of encrochat conspiracies

Michael Stradling

Michael Stradling, instructed by Andrew Marrs at Abbey Solicitors, successfully defends (again) in an encrochat case of considerable seriousness at the Kingston Crown Court.

Mr Stradling’s client faced an indictment alleging conspiracies to supply cocaine, heroin, and cannabis, conspiracy to possess criminal property, and conspiracy to transfer firearms (assault rifles and machine guns).

The evidence against the defendant was predominantly material obtained from the exfiltration of data from encro chat communications. The case involved issues of reliability of data, cross-examination of Luke Shrimpton, and expert communications evidence.

After 3 weeks of evidence the jury returned unanimous not guilty verdicts on all counts.’
