Naeem represents the second of five defendants in a long money laundering trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court, involving Hawala banking also known as Hundi. Although only some £500k was recovered, the evidence suggests dealing in the alternative banking system in excess of several million pounds. The case has generated in excess of 200,000 pages of case material.
