New Senior Clerk for 3TG

With the retirement of one of our longest serving and senior members of staff, 3TG is announcing major staff changes.

The Management Committee is delighted to announce that from 1^st April 2025, Mike Cross will take over as Senior Clerk from Gary Brown. Mike is currently serving as deputy Senior Clerk and his experience in that role makes him uniquely qualified to meet the challenges in taking 3TG forward. Mike has worked with Gary for many years both at 3TG and elsewhere and we are confident that his well-earned promotion represents the stable continuity that will build on the amazing track-record set by his predecessor.

Gary Brown, whose distinction as a Senior Clerk in Temple was recognised by his appointment last year as President of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks is not leaving, however. We are delighted to be retaining his wealth of experience in the role of Chambers Business Manager, when Mike takes over as Senior Clerk. Gary’s commitment to the success of 3TG is as vibrant as ever it was, and we are confident that these changes will allow us to maintain the high standards of service to our clients, professional and lay, that Gary’s leadership of the clerks’ room has delivered.

We are proud that senior staff remain with us for so long, and the foundation upon which Gary has been building in recent years was originally laid by Kevin Aldridge who has racked up an astonishing 45 years of loyal service, 41 of them in senior positions as Senior Clerk and most recently Business Manager. All good things – we are told – must come to an end and Kevin has announced that he will be retiring on 31^st March 2025. Although, we will be sorry to lose his steadfast service and quiet efficiency, we will be wishing him a long, happy and peaceful retirement when he opens his new and well-earned chapter.
