Tanya Ossack secures acquittal on all counts in witness intimidation and revenge trial

Tanya Ossack represented a defendant whose two sons had been convicted of murder last year at the Central Criminal Court. The main prosecution witness had been granted anonymity and had been known as witness 'A'. It was alleged that the defendant had worked out who witness 'A' was and had proceeded to intimidate the individual which included alleged death threats to the witness and family members. The intimidation had been alleged to have continued after the murder trial verdict. Witness 'A' attended the intimidation and revenge trial (having lost anonymity) and gave evidence along with other family members. Following a difficult trial, the defendant was acquitted of all counts.

Tanya was instructed by Blackfords LLP.
