Shona Grundy has secured the acquittal of a 15 year old defendant who had been charged with five other co-defendants of a s.18 stabbing. Prior to the prosecution case commencing, Shona challenged the identification evidence sought to be relied upon during the course of a four day voir dire hearing. The Judge ruled that the behaviour of the police had been borderline mali fide and exclude the case against Shona's client entirely under s.78 PACE.
