Richard Storey singled out for praise in the Court of Appeal

Richard Storey recently appeared on behalf of a 19-year old Appellant and has been singled out for significant praise by Mrs Justice Thirlwall. The Appellant had faced a charge of possession of a firearm and was therefore subject to the minimum sentence of 5-years.

The court paid tribute to Richard's written and oral argument and stated that the case had been presented with, "…commendable skill and focus". Although the appeal against conviction was not allowed, the original sentence of 56-months was reduced to one of 37-months.
