Shona Grundy secures acquittal for 14 year old in ‘gang’ false imprisonment and robbery case

Shona Grundy was instructed to represent a 14 year old youth from south London charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of false imprisonment and one matter of a bladed article. The background to the case involved a rivalry between the '67's' and the Fiddies/GAS gang. Shona's client was accused of falsely imprisoning two 14 year old boys for approximately 2 hours during which several 'council of war' meetings were held with senior gang members to consider whether to administer revenge attacks on the two boys as retaliation for a recent gang-related shooting. Following the success of several legal arguments on day 1 of trial the Crown offered no evidence on all charges against Shona's client.

Shona was instructed by Maya Lal and Sara Fantoni of Lawrence & Co.
