Charles Durrant secures an acquittal in physical and sexual violence case

Charles Durrant

Charles Durrant secures an acquittal across all 4 counts at Peterborough Crown Court in a week long case concerning an alleged campaign of physical and sexual violence against the Defendant's partner culminating in an alleged rape.

The case concerned complex and sensitive cross examination of a witness that by virtue of a mental disorder was highly vulnerable. There was bad character in untested allegations from an ex wife against whom there was a restraining order; further allegations not the subject of the indictment; and a police caution for violence on the same complainant all the subject of long argument on the first day.

Charles was instructed by Alesdair King of Usmani King Solicitors.'
