William Saunders secured the acquittal of a teaching assistant accused of sexually assaulting a pupil at the school where he taught. The allegation was that he had assaulted a pupil with special needs, both in and out of school and over a substantial period of time. The defendant was acquitted of all counts after a week long trial and jury retirement of more than a day.
