After lengthy legal argument based upon the statutory requirements of the Perjury Act 2011, Adam Davis QC and Tim Forte were successful in persuading HHJ Field QC in Manchester Crown Court to find against the Crown in a trial for perjury involving a well-known Liverpool solicitor. His rulings, which the Crown decided not to appeal, led to the inevitable acquittal of the solicitor involved, with not guilty verdicts being ordered.
