Jon Rosen starts 2018 with rape acquittal

Jonathan Rosen

Jonathan Rosen has secured the acquittal at Northampton Crown Court of a 40 year old man charged with rape. It was alleged he had met the 20 year old female university student on the street under the pretext of asking for directions before persuading her to go with him to his hotel where he took her to his bedroom, pinned her down and raped her. The defendant agreed the complainant had gone to the hotel with him but said they just chatted until he was about to drive her back home when a friendly hug developed into intimate touching but that it never got anywhere near penetrative sex. In his police interviews he refused to accept sexual touching of any description had taken place and gave no explanation for forensic evidence showing the complainant's DNA all over his penis and injuries consistent with having been restrained. Three recent complaint witnesses also gave evidence.

Jonathan was instructed by Michelle Deonne Mattis of Christob Solicitors.
