Jeremy Wainwright and Simon Gledhill successfully stay major fraud case as an abuse of the courts process

Jeremy Wainwright KC

Simon Gledhill

Jeremy Wainwright, leading Simon Gledhill, has successfully argued for the stay of the prosecution of their client arising out Operation 'Purple Matar,' a fraud prosecution relating to Claims Management and Solicitors firms nationwide practising in personal injury law.

Following the collapse of a trial after 7 weeks of evidence, it was argued that inadequacies in the investigation and deficiencies in the disclosure process rendered it impossible for the Defendant to have a fair trial. Following a week of evidence and legal argument the Court found in favour of the argument and stayed the case

Jeremy and Simon were instruction by Matthew De Maid of De Maids Solicitors, Cardiff.
