Clare Dowse has secured the acquittal of a 15-year-old boy who was charged with s18 in relation to a stabbing which took place in the street in the Isle Of Dogs in January 2020. The Crown had described the case as being "millimetres from a murder".
Clare's client, who had no previous convictions, was accused of having armed himself with a large kitchen knife and attacked and stabbed a 17-year-old acquaintance in the street following an argument over social media.
After a complex six-day trial, which involved a string of vulnerable teenage witnesses, the jury returned verdicts of not guilty to all counts in just 40 minutes.
Clare was instructed by Anthony Branley and Lauren McDougall of Galbraith Branley, North Finchley.
