Angharad Hughes, instructed by Catherine Dormon of John Fuller & Partners, secures an acquittal in a blackmail and arson trial at Luton Crown Court. The case was based on DNA and cell site evidence alleged to have demonstrated the Defendant's presence at the scene of the arson and connection to the phone used in the blackmail.
The jury unanimously acquitted the Defendant of the blackmail matter and acquitted with a majority of 11-1 in respect of the arson.
