Patrick Harte has concluded at Blackfriars Crown Court in a case alleging rape and serious sexual assault. Having pleaded guilty on the opening day of his trial, to counts of harassment and multiple common assault against his ex-partner, Mr F was acquitted of rape against the same complainant.
The allegation was that in the context of a violent relationship she was to a "brutal" rape two years ago but after cross examination many discrepancies were exposed and the defendant was acquitted in under two hours.
