Puneet Grewal’s client acquitted of 3 counts of rape at Chelmsford Crown Court. 

Puneet Grewal, instructed by Helen Hillstead of Harris Cuffaro & Nichols, represented a client alleged to have raped his school friend – both of whom were 16 at the time.

Puneet’s client was alleged to have raped the complainant in his bedroom, in what the prosecution described was a sustained attack whilst she froze. In the aftermath he and the complainant exchanged messages in which it was suggested he had confessed to the allegations. He had also sent a number of messages to his friend throughout the night in which he expressed remorse for what he believed he had done. 

The jury returned unanimous not guilty verdicts to all 3-counts.
