Ruth Reid has secured a suspended sentence order for a client charged with his third offence of possession of a bladed article, following a deferred sentence. The client had strong personal mitigation and showed great improvement and potential prior to and over the 4-month sentence deferment, which satisfied the court that an exceptional course of action could be taken and it would be unjust to impose an immediate custodial sentence.
