In a trial at Croydon Crown Court, Samantha Ball, instructed by Sabah Sheikh of Noble Solicitors, represented a client who was acquitted of aggravated burglary.
Samantha’s client was accused of being one of three individuals who broke into a home address armed with knives and a firearm intending to steal money in the early hours of the morning. Samantha’s client accepted their blood was found very near the point of entry and in another location where it was alleged the burglars had gone through. The police had not made any other arrests.
The prosecution intended to rely on evidence of a knife and knuckleduster found at the Defendant’s home address. Samantha successfully applied to have this evidence excluded. The prosecution also applied to rely on the previous conviction of Samantha’s client which Samantha successfully opposed.
