Siobhan Cawkwell successful in Appeal Against Sentence.

Siobhan Cawkwell

Siobhan Cawkwell appeared in the Court of Appeal, representing the appellant in an appeal against his sentence.

The Court of Appeal quashed the original sentence of 21 months immediate imprisonment and imposed a 15-month suspended sentence.

Leave to appeal was granted on the basis that the sentence imposed on the defendant in respect of money laundering offences was manifestly excessive; the Single Judge ordered a Pre-Sentence Report ahead of the appeal hearing.

The Court allowed the appeal, quashed the original sentence of 21-months imprisonment, and imposed a 15-month suspended sentence.
