Stephen Garbett recently secured the acquittal of his client who had been charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs – with two counts of simple possession of class A in the alternative.
On police body worn camera, his client had accepted possession of a package containing multiple wraps of class A drugs during the search of a car he was in. This acceptance was maintained in police interview. At trial, the jury accepted that this admission was made under pressure and that he was not in possession of these drugs.
Stephen was instructed by Stefan Sutherland of Carson Kaye Solicitors.
