Stephen Garbett, instructed by Rose Nelson of Sperrin Law, represented (D) who was was purportedly identified by a witness stabbing the victim by reference to his clothing — D accepted being the person on CCTV running away carrying a knife shortly afterwards. D pleaded guilty to possession of a blade but denied stabbing the victim. Video recorded evidence of D allegedly confessing to stabbing the victim was adduced in evidence, but the jury unanimously found D not guilty of both wounding with intent and inflicting grievous bodily harm.
