Stephen Garbett successfully secures unanimous acquittals at Exeter Crown Court, on all six allegations his client faced, including rape, sexual assault and threats to kill

Stephen’s client (D) faced these allegations and others in resect of his wife, along with an allegation of assault from his eldest daughter. The trial was further complicated due to translation and cultural issues given the Tamil heritage of the family. Stephen faced the added challenge of the prosecution being conducted by highly regarded, proficient and tenacious King’s Counsel.
