In his first jury trial in Silk, Tim Forte KC, leading Richard Reynolds, successfully secured the acquittal of his client, Anthony Cleary in Operation Privilege. The high-profile murder trial – the revenge shooting of a prison officer – before the Honourable Mr Justice Goose in the secure Court 1 at Preston Crown Court started on 24th June 2025, with unanimous verdicts handed down on 29th August, convicting the first defendant Elias Morgan and acquitting Mr Cleary of both murder and manslaughter, the only charges he faced. The trial was a full cut-throat, with numerous legal arguments, almost all successfully argued by Tim and Richard, who were instructed by Sara Doyle and John Weate of RMNJ, Liverpool.
