Tim Forte , instructed by Miriam Altaf at Carson Kaye Solicitors, successfully resisted an application by the Attorney General for leave to refer a sentence as unduly lenient.
Having obtained the offender’s acquittal at trial of a count of Attempted Murder, Tim further secured a merciful sentence for the second charge of causing GBH with intent. The AG sought leave to refer the sentence, but at a fully argued hearing, their Lordships agreed with our submissions in response, and refused to increase the sentence.
