Two men who knocked their victim unconscious and stole his Rolex were convicted of robbery after a trial at Croydon Crown Court prosecuted by Matthew Keliris-Thomas

Matthew Keliris-Thomas

Matthew Keliris-Thomas prosecuted two men who were accused of following their victim from a train station in Bromley as he walked home. They struck him in the head with what he thought was a rock, knocking him unconscious and causing a cut to his head requiring stiches. They then took his Rolex from his wrist and ran from the scene. The watch was sold in Hatton Garden the following day and the pair were connected to the sale through phone data. They were tracked to and from the site of the robbery by a GPS monitoring anklet worn by one of the Defendants. The jury at Croydon Crown Court convicted both men after trial.

The Defendants were sentenced immediately to 6.5 and 6 years’ immediate custody.
