Michael Cross commenced his clerking career in 2001 at a top family law set, and went on to clerk at a well-known commercial law chambers before moving into criminal law in 2004.
Since 2004, he has held various roles in criminal and common law sets in London.
Michael joined 3 Temple Gardens in December 2018, in the role of Deputy Senior Clerk having held the position of First Junior Clerk at another high-ranking criminal law set.
Michael prides himself on his client care skills, and having clerked in criminal law chambers for fifteen years, he is well placed to advise professional and lay and clients as to the suitability of counsel for individual cases. He takes great time and effort in this regard.
In his capacity as Deputy Senior Clerk, Michael is active in business development in addition to overseeing chambers diary and supervising the junior clerking team. Michael is particularly adept at client care and this quality has resulted in a loyal professional client following. He brings to chambers a great deal of experience.
Michael is trained in the administration of public access cases and is one of three clerks able to deal with these enquiries.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys playing rugby, swimming and spending quality time with his wife and sons. His swimming achievements include swimming the English Channel on four occasions and he has captained his rugby team for five years. He is currently concentrating on honing his Spanish language skills!
