Patrick Harte successfully defends in Seven Sisters armed disturbance

Patrick Harte

Patrick Harte has secured the acquittal of his defendant in a Seven Sisters armed disturbance case. The defendant was acquitted on a two-count indictment containing charges of Attempt GBH and Affray which arose out of a violent clash involving around 10 participants armed with knives, hammers and bats on a summer afternoon on Seven Sisters Road.

The Crown's primary witness was an off-duty police officer who positively identified the defendant as the principle assailant in an identity parade two days after the event.

Patrick successfully persuaded the jury that despite the positive identification, the officer's evidence was so tainted and flawed as to be unreliable.

Patrick was instructed by Achom & Partners.
