The trial has begun at Wood Green Crown Court of a 20-year-old Defendant who is accused of targeting young teenage girls via social media, before forcing them to engage in serious sex acts in order to prevent him from posting allegedly compromising material about them across various digital platforms.
The investigation, known as Operation Garland, was carried out across two police areas, and the trial involves a complex evidential framework with at its heart a large volume of telephone materials.
