Patrick Harte successfully defends a man accused of joint enterprise knife-point robbery

Patrick Harte

Patrick Harte has secured an acquittal at Blackfriars Crown Court of a man accused of joint enterprise knife-point robbery. The CCTV showed both defendants approaching the victim before the co-defendant produced a knife, taking the victim's iPhone in the process.

Fill admissions were made by the defendant in interview as to his supposed part in the robbery, stating that he had co-planned the robbery and was present to 'look intimidating' and subsequently agreed to divide the proceeds of the robbery with his co-defendant.

Due to discrepancies between the victim's account and the supposed admissions, it was argued that the admissions were not reliable.
