3TG members successful on half-time submissions in affray stabbing case

Jonathan Rosen

Nathalie Carter

Puneet Grewal

Following a seven-day trial at St. Albans Crown Court Puneet Grewal , Ken Aylett, Jonathan Rosen and Nathalie Carter were all successful on submissions that each of their lay clients had no case to answer on charges of affray and wounding with intent and three additional charges of possession of a bladed article.

The case involved three members of a single family and the youngest son's 15 year old friend.

Following tenacious applications for disclosure of CCTV footage and telephone downloads which were eventually served on the morning of trial the four were able to undermine the credibility of the two principal witnesses – one of whom had sustained life threatening knife injuries – to such an extent that the Judge agreed he could not allow the case to be left to the jury.

Puneet, Ken and Jonathan were instructed by Darren Flight of Harris Cuffaro & Nichols. Nathalie was instructed by Alex Graham of Heckford Norton.
