Stephen Garbett secured the acquittal of his client (a carer) on a charge of ill treating a mentally disordered patient, following a 7 day trial at Basildon Crown Court.

The prosecution alleged that she had ill treated the resident while employed in her capacity as a carer in a high dependency dementia care facility. The alleged ill treatment had been caught by a covert camera planted in the resident's room by her concerned family. .
